Several operators offer bay cruises. See where John F. Kennedy spends his honeymoon, or take a pirate cruise on the scenic Acapulco Bay. Dinner cruises, with live salsa music under the twinkling stars reflecting in the Bay of Acapulco, are sure to sweep you into a romantic mood. Or if you prefer to have a smaller boat for only your group, that is also an option. The staff can arrange all of this for you. Be sure and take along a cooler of cold beer and soft drinks.
Day trips are very popular in Acapulco. You can choose from a wide variety of tours of half-day, full day or evening nightclub tours.
Taxco: One of the many beautiful day trips available in the State of Guerrero is a journey to the pretty colonial town of Taxco. Taxco is also known as the silver city due to a large silver mine that was discovered by a French immigrant in the 18th century. Herman Cortés founded the city in 1522. The city is situated in a mountainous region, and has a strong old-world ambiance with its cobblestone streets winding across the hillside between tile-roofed buildings. The church of Santa Prisca was built by the French immigrant “Jose de la Borda” in 1759, and is one of Mexico’s most stunning churches. The city is a silver shopper’s paradise. The temperatures are cooler than in Acapulco, providing a nice change especially in the hot and humid summer months. There are fully escorted tours departing from Acapulco daily. The trip takes around 5 hours by bus and 3 ½ hours by car.
